Serita is a seasoned therapist with 19 years of experience, specializing in deep tissue, trigger point, kinesiology, and myofascial active release to support pain relief, mobility, and personalized movement goals.

Serita has been a lifelong student of massage. Under the tutelage of her babysitter, who happened to specialized in reflexology, she started giving mini reflexology sessions to the family and friends at the age of two. Growing up in a household who sought out alternative healing methods, she grew up going to acupuncturists, chiropractors, physical and massage therapist. It only seemed like the natural thing to pursue a career in bodywork and the healing arts. Her areas of expertise are kinesiology, trigger point, deep tissue, and myofascial active release. As a practicing therapist for the past 19 years she has enjoyed customizing each of her massage sessions to her clients’ needs and body movement goals.

James is a highly experienced massage therapist with 29 years in practice and advanced training in Orthopedic Massage. He customizes each session using myofascial work, deep tissue, Swedish, sports, prenatal, and orthopedic techniques to help you relax, recover, and meet specific bodywork goals.

James has been a full-time massage therapist for the past 29 years. He received his certification through the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville in 1993. Since then, he’s studied a variety of techniques and modalities. In 2000, he completed his certification in Orthopedic Massage with Tom Hendrickson, DC at the Hendrickson Method Institute in Berkeley, California.

He uses a variety of techniques to customize his client’s sessions: from Myofascial Therapy, Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sports Massage, Orthopedic Massage, and Pre-Natal. Whether you just want to relax from a stressful week, or if you have a more specific goal, his intention and goal is to provide a great and effective massage for his clients.

-> I ask my clients to arrive at least 15 minutes before their session to fill out a health intake form. The form and clipboard/pen will be on the bench when you arrive. This form allows me to know about your health history, and to gather more information that would be pertinent for your session. At the beginning of the session, I’ll review your intake form, ask relevant questions, and define the goals for your session.

-> As Covid has been changing, I want to protect my clients and myself: I’ll wear a mask during our session. As a client, you can wear a mask, or not.

Landon brings a recovery-focused approach shaped by his own long-term injury rehab, combining therapeutic massage with practical self-care guidance to reduce pain, improve mobility, and support lasting relief.

As a former college Rugby player whose leg was (shattered/snapped/broken) in two places over ten years ago, learning how to alleviate tremendous pain and sustainably keep it away quickly became crucial to my existence. By now, I have managed to take the pain away permanently and seek to heal others in a similar fashion: self-care via monthly massage, yoga often (or any exercise that best works for you), and mental + bodily support as best you can. Each massage given is unique to every client, so let’s work on what’s best for you.

Kieran has treated the root of my problems, not just my symptoms, and made significant progress in my flexibility, range of motion and pain relief that I never considered possible. I thought finding a new massage therapist was going to take a while, but one session with Kieran it was evident that this was the knowledge and care I needed. He is encouraging, smart and a wonderful guide through this process. I'm very thankful Massage Grotto exists.

Have been working with James for about 6 months and he is one of the best practitioners I’ve met in SF. He took detailed notes on my first visit and knows exactly what I need to manage chronic pain. I am so grateful for his support. Thank you James and Massage Grotto.

I just had a 60 minute massage with Gabee. I’ve been working with a variety of PTs, yoga instructors, masseurs & masseuses, etc. over the past 5 or so years addressing issues in my shoulders and hips. Gabee quickly showed excellent understanding of my issues and did a great job tailoring the massage accordingly.

I've been here a few times and have seen Krissi, Kieran, and Felicia. All of them have been fabulous! They all have different styles but are all very professional and skilled at finding those spots and ironing them out, plus they all have amazing energy. Love how I feel when I'm here. Their fireplace is so cozy and their oils are very calming. They offer a teacher discount which makes this type of healing much more accessible too! Thank you Massage Grotto!

So far I’v had one massage here at the Richmond location from gabby and it was very good. I think the price is reasonable for what they provide and I am going back for another massage with gabby on Friday so excited ! The only thing is it’s a little confusing figuring which door to enter and entering the code. She used a nice Botanical Oil Enhancement to enhance the massage which was great and some places charge extra for that but it was complimentary here.

I've been going to Kieran for over 2 years because he's the only person who has been able to target my chronic pain and help alleviate it. As other reviewers have said, he's extremely knowledgeable of the body's fascia and able to connect a whole lifetime of injuries (and compensations for said injuries) to systematically work them out. Keep in mind this is body WORK and not massage: it's pain now for relief later.
